This policy informs you what information we hold about you, as you are one of the free subscribers to the Talking News service, and how we treat that information.

Information we may hold:
We will only collect and hold personal information that we need. This will be collected directly from you, or from someone that you have authorised to provide us with that information.
We will hold information only to be able to contact you. This will be name, address, telephone number(s) and email (if available). We may also keep contact details from someone acting on your behalf in the event that we contact you through this person. This will only ever be done where we have permission to do so.
The data that we hold, which is essentially a mailing list, is kept securely at the recording studio and will be accessed only by volunteers that support the Talking News service and who are responsible for the weekly recording and despatch of the memory sticks to you. The data is also kept on the private computers of the membership secretary and his deputy.
This data is generally referred to as personal data. We will hold no other information unless directly relevant to the despatch / receipt of the weekly memory sticks.

Why do we need your data?
In order that we can send to you the weekly newspaper on memory stick or contact you with information directly related to our services and any events that we may organise and would wish to invite you to.

Who will we share your data with?
We will not share your data with any external agency or other organisation unless we are compelled to by law.  We do not use your data for marketing or fund-raising activities.

How long do we keep your data?
We will remove your contact details from our current records, if you inform us that you no longer wish to receive the Talking News service. We will review all records annually.

What are my rights?
You have the right to obtain access to any personal data we hold on you, although this data will only comprise contact details. You have the right to obtain this information free of charge.
You have the right to discontinue the Talking News service at any time by contacting us as above.

Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to make changes to our privacy policy should the need arise.
